Grape Variety: Touriga Nacional

Origin - Quinta da Seara - Ervedosa do Douro
Vineyard altitude: 500 meters
Manual harvest: Grapes harvested exclusively from a small plot of Touriga Nacional about 15 days before the grapes used for red wine. Total aging of 7 months.

  • Vinification

    Wine from Quinta da Seara at 500m altitude.
    Grapes harvested from a small plot of Touriga Nacional.
    Cooling the grapes in a cold storage room for 24 hours at 0ºC to preserve the aromatic purity of the variety. Total de-stemming. Only the free-run juice was used to make this wine, which subsequently fermented at low temperatures (13-14ºC) in a stainless steel tank for 3 weeks to preserve the maximum aromatic purity and primary aromas of the grape. Total aging time was 7 months.

  • Tasting Notes

    On the nose, it presents notes of currant, blueberries, and fresh strawberries, assuming an exuberant and elegant character.
    With body and texture on the palate, it also shows intense cherry, being dry and fresh. Its structure and balance with a refreshing acidity make it persistent and very long.

  • Harmonization

    Very versatile it will work well with fish, shellfish, salads and white meats. Ideal serving temperature of 10 – 12 o C.
